Alfil Logistics ends the 2019 financial year while dedicating its efforts to the fight against Covid-2019

Turnover increases by 4% compared to the previous year

Alfil Logistics ended the 2019 financial year with a turnover of €113.5 million - an increase on the previous year of 4.1%. A similar annual rate of growth has been the trend since the company was created in 2000, allowing it to face 2020 with a certain degree of calm, although it will be a particularly difficult year for all sectors of the economy.

The growth of the company’s customer portfolio in all sectors, an increase in the services offered and the expansion by more than 35,000 m2 of the facilities in the Zona de Actividades Logísticas logistics area of the Port of Barcelona in El Prat de Llobregat with the total warehouse area rising to 135,000m2, all stand out in 2019.

For Jaume Bonavia, CEO of Alfil Logistics: “2019 was another year of growth, but right now the most relevant thing is the fight to get through this health crisis. The entire team of Alfil Logistics is making great efforts to keep working - for that, I would like to give them all my thanks. Right now, the most important thing for Alfil Logistics is to offer to help society in any way we can, playing our part by distributing ventilators and splitters, as well as importing medical equipment from China.”

How Alfil Logistics is supporting the fight against Covid-19

Since the health emergency was announced, Alfil Logistics has been supporting the fight against the pandemic and is collaborating in various community actions.

One of these actions is the distribution, free of charge and working with Correos and the Fundación CARES, of the ventilators and splitters that the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona alliance is manufacturing using 3D printing.

Alfil Logistics has strengthened its position as a strategic partner for the Asia-Pacific area, especially China. Import and export activity to and from this geographical area is becoming increasingly important to the company, which has had a fixed headquarters in Shanghai for more than a year. Proof of this is that in the last few weeks the company has managed the importing of medical equipment (gloves and masks) to combat the spread of Covid-19.

To help deliver customer orders, Alfil Logistics has launched the Alfil Express e-commerce service, carrying out last-mile delivery to those who require it.
