Moments de Pel·lícula, an initiative to provide support for elderly people from Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia neighbourhood

It was promoted in partnership with the Amics de la Gent Gran (Friends of the Elderly) Foundation and several rest homes in the district with the participation of Damm’s volunteers

Damm has held Moments de Pel·lícula, a day of solidarity that opens the gates of the former Estrella Damm Factory to elderly people from the Sagrada Familia neighbourhood in Barcelona. The initiative forms part of the #LIVE TO BE PART OF THE CHANGE corporate volunteering plan, by means of which the company promotes social activities to foster inclusion, empathy and community well-being.

During the event, elderly people from different entities in the neighbourhood enjoyed a meal with Damm’s volunteers, followed by the screening of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a tale of friendship, hope and second chances.

The activity was organised in collaboration with the Amics de la Gent Gran Foundation, an entity that strives to combat loneliness and social isolation among the elderly, as well as several rest homes and centres in the district.

With this kind of initiative, Damm reaffirms its undertaking to build a more empathetic and caring society, helping to raise awareness of the loneliness and social isolation that affects so many elderly people. By means of activities such as Moments de Pel·lícula, the company seeks to generate spaces for connection and dialogue between generations and facilitate inclusion and emotional support.
