Damm brings for the first time to 4YFN a robot that serves beer autonomously

It is an articulated arm that will speed up beverage service at large events, a further step in line with the company's commitment to innovation.

Damm presents an articulated arm at the new edition of the MWC Barcelona (Mobile World Congress Barcelona) that will help to speed up the service of drinks at large events. The tool, developed in collaboration with robotics consultancy BR5, will operate autonomously and assist waiters and waitresses at peak times at large events.

The robot consists of an articulated arm capable of simulating the dexterity of the best waiters and waitresses, being able to take a glass from a dispenser, place it at the right angle under the Estrella Damm beer tap, open it and pour the "perfect beer" - with just the right two fingers of foam - close the tap and finally present it at the bar, where the bar staff will serve it to the end customer.

This device will be tested for the first time at a large event such as the 4YFN, where the continuous flow of customers and clients makes it necessary to devise new ways to allow the bar staff to serve them quickly without reducing the quality of service. With this new proposal, Damm reinforces its commitment to innovation and technology as fundamental tools to boost the development of the major events sector.

"In a constantly changing environment, innovation and a commitment to new technologies have become basic elements to ensure that the major events sector adapts to the new times. At Damm, we are working to promote the digitalisation of the sector, and we are committed to collaborating with companies in the technology sector and startups that help us to continue advancing in the digital transformation of the events in which we collaborate," says Laura Gil, Damm's Digital Transformation Director.

Innovation without neglecting sustainability

In addition to presenting the latest technical innovations applied to mass events, Damm will also be able to test its new reusable cups made from 100% aluminium produced by its can supplier Ball during MWC Barcelona 2022. As these cups are made from 100% aluminium, they can be recycled in their entirety and indefinitely, as this type of material does not lose quality or properties no matter how many times it is recycled. In addition, this type of cup allows the beverage to be kept cooler for longer, thus improving the consumer experience.

When no longer in use, aluminium cups may be placed in recycling bins. As a sign of its firm commitment to the circular economy, Estrella Damm, together with the recycling company Blipvert, has created exclusive containers to recycle these cups.
