Damm celebrates its 150th anniversary at Alimentaria
The company is bringing Bohemia Damm Reserva 150 to the event, a slow-aged lager brewed by Damm’s master brewers to mark the company’s 150-year history
Damm will once again be taking part in Alimentaria + Hostelco, which is one of the leading international events for the food, drink and food service industry and runs until 26 March at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. In this edition, the company has a commemorative stand celebrating its 150-year history, a space designed to explore Damm's brewing history. An anniversary that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the food fair.
“Alimentaria is one of the great international showcases of our industry and an essential biennial event to strengthen the relationship with our clients and showcase our new products. Throughout its fifty-year history, it has reflected the evolution of the food and beverage sector. In Damm’s case, when we took part in the first edition in 1976, we were essentially a locally based brewery; today we are an international food and beverage group comprising beer, bottled natural mineral water, all kinds of soft drinks and dairy products, alongside a strong branded catering division (Grupo Rodilla) and a comprehensive distribution network for the hospitality sector (DDI). Five decades later, we remain convinced that innovation, excellence, and the ability to build long-term relationships are the foundation of any project that aspires to endure”, said Jorge Villavecchia, CEO at Damm.
During the event, Damm organised a presentation and tasting session at its stand for Bohemia Damm Reserva 150, the beer created by Damm’s master brewers to mark its 150th anniversary and named after the Fábrica de la Bohemia, the former brewery opened in 1905 on Carrer Rosselló in Barcelona (now the Former Estrella Damm Brewery). Bohemia Damm Reserva 150 is a slow-aged lager, brewed with barley malt, rice and hops, using 100% natural ingredients, and subjected to a prolonged maturation process that allows it to achieve great depth and balance.
The following people participated in the session: Karen Peiró, Damm's master brewer, and Jaume Alemany, the company's marketing director, along with sommelier Ferran Centelles who explained how Bohemia Damm was made and its gastronomic potential through a pairing specially designed for the occasion.
Nestea's new products are also arriving at Alimentaria
Damm's space at Alimentaria is also the stage to present the latest innovations from Nestea, the favourite iced tea brand of Spaniards, which continues to expand its range with proposals designed to adapt to different tastes and consumption moments. Among them, the following stand out Nestea Red Fruits with Açaí, a new variety that combines the smoothness of green tea with the intense flavour of red fruits and the exotic touch of açaí, resulting in a refreshing, fruity and nuanced drink.
The fair also serves as a showcase for Brand restyling, with which Nestea updates its visual identity while maintaining the most recognisable elements of its image. The new design opts for a fresher, more modern and visible aesthetic on the shelf, with greater prominence of the ingredients and a differentiated colour code for each flavour. This redesign also seeks to strengthen Nestea's presence in the cold tea beverage aisle, with more recognizable and distinctive packaging that provides greater clarity and allows each variety to be identified quickly and visually.
