Damm achieves a turnover of €2.025 billion in 2024

The company continues to consolidate its model of sustainable growth supported by international expansion, technological innovation, environmental commitment and the development of strategic agreements

Damm closed the 2024 financial year with a turnover of 2.025 billion euros and an EBITDA of 321 million euros. The company thus has maintained revenues above 2 billion for the second year running. What's more, it achieved a net profit of 175 million euros, 35% above the previous year, thanks to the positive evolution of business activity in its main markets, together with efficient operating and cost management.

The results were presented today at the General Shareholders' Meeting, held at the Estrella Damm Old Brewery, where the annual accounts and the dividend payment were approved.

The consolidation of sales volume in the beverage division - which includes beer, water, soft drinks and dairy products - enabled Damm to close out the year with 21 million hectolitres sold. This performance was complemented by the positive evolution of the restaurant and capillary distribution areas, which contributed to shoring up the group's revenues.

Demetrio Carceller Arce, Damm's executive chairman, said: "The 2024 results demonstrate the strength of Damm's business model and its ability to deliver long-term growth. They also demonstrate the company's efforts to increase its profitability in a complex environment, marked by persistent inflation, subdued consumption and high global uncertainty."

Diversification and internationalisation, key pillars of the group's growth

As part of its diversification strategy and the search for new growth opportunities in complementary segments, Damm signed an agreement with Nestlé to produce, sell, market and distribute Nestea in Spain, Andorra, Gibraltar and Portugal from 2025. With this operation, the company strengthens its presence in the non-carbonated beverage segment, a category with strong growth prospects, by adding consumers’ favourite iced tea brand to its portfolio. This addition complements the company's portfolio of non-alcoholic beverages, which includes the natural mineral water brands Veri, Fuente Liviana and Font Major.

In the beer market, Damm is committed to a broad diversification of high-quality beer brands and styles. This strategy provides it with a regional presence with leading brands such as Estrella de Levante and Turia, while boosting the growth and national presence of Voll-Damm and Victoria, among others. In addition, Estrella Damm, for its part,
continues to consolidate its position as the most international Spanish beer, with sales in more than 80 countries and a presence on all five continents.

Internationalisation thus remained one of Damm's main growth levers in 2024. On the cusp of celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026, the brewing group has achieved a presence of its brands in more than 130 countries and own-label exports reach 87 markets. In parallel, the company made progress on the comprehensive renovation of its Bedford (UK) plant. Acquired in 2022, this facility has enabled Damm to strengthen its production capacity outside Spain and operate more efficiently and sustainably in one of its main European markets.

During his speech, Demetrio Carceller Arce underscored the importance of the international market: "We now have a team of more than 500 people dedicated exclusively to our international operations, reflecting our commitment to the company's global expansion. Of particular note in this area was the strong performance of our brands abroad, driven both by the consolidation of existing markets and the opening of new countries.

AI and data, levers for future competitiveness

Technological innovation continues to be one of Damm's main commitments to ensure its long-term competitiveness. The company has embarked on a new phase focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analytics as levers to improve efficiency and support strategic decision making. In this context, the company presented in early 2025 IAmm, its data and artificial intelligence hub, where technology and knowledge are combined to optimise decision making through projects focused on data and AI.

Commitment to the environment

Sustainability continues to be a strategic priority for Damm, which remains committed to an increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly business model, based on the circular economy. In 2024, the company succeeded in reducing CO₂ emissions from its logistics operations by more than 30% and has become the first consumer goods company in Spain to obtain the second Lean & Green star, awarded by the AECOC, the association of manufacturers and distributors. At the same time, Damm has reinforced its commitment to renewable energies with the expansion of its photovoltaic farm, consolidating its position as the Spanish brewery with the largest surface area of solar panels. These initiatives are complemented by sustained investments in more efficient energy production systems, such as cogeneration, biogas trigeneration and solar photovoltaics, which have led to a 45 % reduction in energy consumption per hectolitre of beer produced over the last decade.

In terms of water management, Damm was a pioneer in the industry by implementing the calculation of the water footprint per unit of product, a key tool for optimising the consumption of this resource throughout the production process. As a result, since 2008 the company has succeeded in reducing water consumption in its plants by 36%. This cross-cutting approach, which ranges from the local sourcing of ingredients to energy efficiency and sustainable logistics, consolidates Damm as a model company in the transition towards an eco-friendlier industry.

Damm Sports City strengthens the company's social commitment

As part of its social commitment, Damm continues to promote initiatives that contribute to building a fairer, more cohesive society with more opportunities for new generations. Through the Damm Foundation, the company channels its sponsorship work in the sporting, social and cultural spheres. In 2024, the Foundation inaugurated Damm Sports City, a complex spread over 30,000 m² located on the mountain of Montjuïc (Barcelona), designed to promote grassroots sport and young talent. The Damm Football Club's new facilities reinforce the Foundation's role as a leader setting the bar in values education through sport. Its opening coincided with the Club's 70th anniversary, consolidating the legacy and future vocation of an entity deeply committed to people and their environment.
